The place does not have a charter for anything. You can simply be lazy or do whatever you want. Walk along the red mud road along with the Muradi dam or reach the foot of the hill. Stroll along the dense forest – you may spot some wild verity of birds and spices. By luck, you may find some other wild spices like wolf of fox. The forest has a habitant of beer and elephant too.

The tropical forest of Baranti hill and surroundings are made of Bamboo shrubs’, SalPiyalAmlokiBahraHaritokiNeem and other tropical trees. Palash tree is found everywhere. The local habitants collect dry firewood and leaves for their daily needs from this jungle. You will get refreshed with the savour and flavour of those trees. The forest, hill and lake looks mysterious in a full moon day. Sitting in the resort balcony you may hear many unknown sounds of the wilds. 

The morning is very pleasant in Baranti when thousands of crippling birds welcomes the day. In rainy season the aroma of wet earth mixed with many other flavours will recharge the day with a new freshness of life. The Baranti dam inhabitants are all kinds of sweet water fishes including king of fishesRohu and Katla. Many other small and big fish spices are also found in the Muradi Dam.

Do not expect a star hotel like experience here – the hospitality and care you receive in those resorts are more worth than a star hotel. The taste of food here is marvellous if you like simple yet tasty food because all the preparations are made from fresh ingredients. The cooks do not use powder masala or electric grinder, rather they use Sil-Batta to grind the spices which makes the food simple, tasty and healthy.

How to Reach Baranti :-

The nearest Airport is Kolkata.
280 Km from Kolkata. Take Durgapur expressway till Raniganj, take let turn to Mejia Ghat Bridge, and drive straight reach to Saltora. The right turn ahead from Saltora takes to Baranti via village roads.

You can take the following trains from Howrah and reach Asansol station. You have to hire trekker or private taxi to reach Baranti. Train lovers can reach up to Muradi station by boarding a local train from Asansol. Hired taxi, Auto rickshaw, Paddle Riskshaw or Trekker can take you to your destination.

Reach Raniganj by bus. You may get a bus or mini bus which will drop you very near to Saltora. Hired taxi, Auto rickshaw, or Trekker can take you to your destination.

Bengali food is the mostly available one, you can get some Chinese and North Indian food too on prior order. Try out “Postor Bora” (a cullet like thing made from grinded poppy seeds with chopped onions and green chilly). If you have an appetite for fish go for it. Lot of verities of sweet water fish comes in various mouth-watering flavour.
This is an all-weather tourist spot. The hill becomes lash green in rainy season. The place is dominated by tropical climate, in winter temperature goes as low as 5 Degree Celsius and 48 Degree Celsius in summer.
